Glossary
- RIB - Rigid Inflatable Boat
- Tube or collar - the inflatable section on the vessel
- Port - left hand side of boat when facing the bow
- Starboard - right hand side of the boat when facing the bow
- Bow - the nose or front of the boat
- Transom - the back of the boat where the engine bolts on
- Hull - the bottom vee shape of the vessel usually made out of either fibreglass or aluminium on ribs.
- Keel - the bottom edge of the vee shape on the hull
- Bilge - the inside of the bottom of the hull
- Bung - plug used to drain water from the bilge
- Retube - the replacement of the tubes or collar
